Genealogy Software Review
Tuesday, October 117:00—8:30 PMZoom
Join genealogist Richard Reid on Zoom as he explores the pros & cons of various genealogy software packages for personal use. Learn which will best help you organize your important research and documents or which will offer the ability to create a presentation or keepsake book. Understand the value in owning your own program versus paying for an online subscription. Family Tree Maker, Legacy, Roots Magic, Heredis, and Reunion all offer software packages for either Windows or Mac or both. Each one can import from the others using GEDCOM and some even allow transfer of the native formats. But what each software can do with the data is different. Learn which is best for your needs!
Richard Reid is the director of both the Friends of Irish Research and the David Allen Lambert Library which are based in Brockton, MA. Richard has worked in the computer industry and taught in high schools, trade schools and colleges for over 35 years. He has co-authored four computer books, and established several computer training centers in New England. He is an active member of over a dozen societies including the Genealogical Association of Nova Scotia and the Cape Breton Genealogical and Historical Association.
